The SEC is still living off the last 2 years. At this point there's Florida, Alabama at the top, and everybody else is less than impressive.

In terms of being "over rated" though, how many elite teams does a conference need to have to be considered great?

Big 12 - OU, Texas
SEC - Bama, UF
ACC -
Big 10 - Penn St
PAC 10 - USC

For the record, I don't think Texas Tech qualifies for this list. They're a good enough team, but they got DEMOLISHED by Oklahoma. To me, the win at Texas was more of a fluke win on the last play of the game than a great win.

Go Gators!

I think you forgot OU (Oklahoma University). They did just beat OSU (Oklahoma State University) last night.

I think the statement of "over rated" is still relevant. The SEC was supposed to be head and shoulders better than everyone else and were touted as being so. I will say this for the SEC; this is the first year that everyone didn't beat each other up. It was mostly Alabama and Florida doing the beating.

They are saying that it is possible that OU and Texas could play each other in the NC game. If Florida beats Alabama and OU beats Missouri, Florida may not have enough votes to overtake Texas in the BCS. I don't know how likely that would be. Wouldn't that be crazy? If that happened The entire world would be screaming for a playoff.

What? You mean OSU isn't one of the elite teams in the Big XII?

You would think that there would be more discussion in this thread as the teams vie for position.

No - I don't think OSU is an elite team.

Yes - I do think there is too little discussion in this thread.

Due to a disappointing loss to Oregon State we, USC, are stuck in the Rose Bowl against Penn State.
