And don't bother with the slotted rotors. Unless you get really expensive rotors with slots cast in them, the cheap blank rotors that have slots machined in them will just crack eventually.

to optimus. great event! some nice cars out there too. After running on a track like this, makes 1/4 tracks seem so boring now. haha

Thanks to everyone for coming out!

Turned out to be a really fun day, we had good weather, no major issues and PLENTY of track time. It was good to meet some of you and really nice to see such a variety of cars, keeps it interesting.

I plan on hosting another gainesville trackday sometime in the fall, when it starts to cool down and I have time to get some more mods and save up more money haha. It will be too hot to run in the next couple of months IMO. I know it will be a long wait for the next one but be on the lookout!

Thanks again to everyone who came out and had fun! And thanks to everyone for being responsible!

I saw some people out there timing laps with stopwatches- what kind of lap times were you guys turning? I'll set the slow benchmark here- in my stock S13 240SX I ran a best of 1:21 when I had a friend time me for a few hot laps.

*edit* This is Caithness posting on bob marley's computer btw.

I didn't get my last few lap sets, which were my best, on video cause my camera battery died but flipping through a couple laps from my first 2 sets I was running around 1:10-1:12.

I think the lowest *timed* laps I had were around 1:07.

I felt like I was battling understeer the whole time....crappy tires...

Just throwing up some media. I got some raw footage using a borrowed video camera, and some pics my friend took.

Video is first......

And some pics.....

tried to figure out some lap times and it looks like I was at about 1:07 area for most of my laps, not too bad!
