Hi guys,

i am gonna be coming from california to florida may 11-18th.

i will be visiting disney world 11- 15 and universal studios on the 16. i pretty much have the 17th free to do something. as on the 18th ill be flying out for something

my friend suggested to go down to miami and check it out but i am not sure.

i am spending 1 day per park in disney world. is that too much? too little?

If you haven't been to disney before, that'll be fine. You're gonna be EXHAUSTED!

Gotta hit the beach at some point also. You have the gulf and the atlantic within a couple hour drive in either direction. Tampa / Clearwater/ ST pete one way and Daytona / Cocoa in the other.

One of my favorite places in FL is St. Augustine. Might wanna check that out also if you're into historic stuff

one day to get down to Miami and do anything is going to be tough if you are in orlando...you will spend most of the day driving. if flying, you may have a decent day but you wont be able to really "see" miami.

Don't forget to leave the 14th open for our weekly meet!! Just check the orlando thread to find out where!

1 day per park is good. I've been going for 30 years and still haven't seen everything!

Yeah, the beaches are good too! Much different then the ones in Cali!

Lots of great restaurants on I drive... I'm sure someone else will chime in with more sugestions!

Not sure where you are staying at for the Disney portion of your trip but I would recommend being at a hotel that is on the Disney Monorail stop, especially if you have small children. It is so much easier to get around and get back to the hotel for a quick afternoon nap and go back to the park afterwards.

St Augustine is a great place to visit, Cape Canaveral is also a short drive due east from O'town.

Have fun!

i am going to pick something at the disney resort and i am assuming it will all be connected.

if i was going to miami i would leave super early on sunday at like 6 am and do the drive down. i can hang out there for most of the day then head back home at 7 or so.

not sure what to really do on our last day so it would be great if you guys can suggest something.

i am staying at the disney resort up till friday then i plan to move to a hotel closer to universal. is it even worth it to do? the disney resort is only 68 bucks and in a safe location.

i dont know much about FL but coming from san francisco, a few miles is a completely differesnt setting. would you guys recommend staying at disney again or is the area around universal pretty safe as well?

i pick it up at will call and i dont pay him after i get the tickets. weird part is he asks money to be transferred to his debit car or something

their is some great go kart places in kissimee and st. augie is quite a historical place. very interesting fort and some cool tours and such. also if you like japanese steakhouses their is one on i-drive i dont remeber the name but i think it is across from the hyatt. they give you more food than you can eat in three meals. it was excellent!
