Brakes
Ok, heres the questions for all the wrench heads out there.
I do not track the car.
Front brake pads are shot. OEM or aftermarket replacement?
Front rotors, leave as-is, turn or replace?
Thanks,
Tim

I think turning the rotors is always a good idea. It's amazing how much they affect the feel of the car and how much more control you have when they're not warped.
Pads ... OE's are pretty good for daily driving. But, any extra 'spirit' while driving may be improved by a step-up in performance pads. Oh, and performance pads are sometimes even cheaper than actual OEM's

I recently went thru this dilemma. I decided to replace the rotors with aftermarket slotted rotors that were cryoed. I do not track my car but I wanted to step up the performance level for dragon trips and spirited driving. I stayed with OEM pads but I changed to high temp brake fluid and braided brake lines.
I honestly cannot tell the difference in everyday driving however I could tell the difference on the spring trip to the Dragon. Pedal was stronger during Dragon runs and under higher temps.
Worth the money in my opinion as I plan on keeping my S, so I looked at it as an investment. If I had plans to trade the car in or sell it I would have just stayed with turning the OEM rotors and new OEM pads.
Hope this helps!

Don't car where you get them but I recommend.
Slotted zinc plated Cryoed rotors,
Hawk HPS Pads
Stainless steel lines
and if you race Motul brake fluid, if you don't race just some good OEM spec fluid.
PS, Call me on any of it all in stock. I will give you a special price on the rotors. (813)309-2696

from all my research and use of two sets of pads.. the after market i have, don't know the name, got them as one of the prizes from the Orlando Kammi event years ago.. finally wore them out.. going to AP1 pad's.. they report a different pad materail used in AP1 an 2's.. i'd turn the rotors an if they needed replacing i'd consider drilled an slotted after market... i'd agree without question on the high temp dot 4 and steel lines... i plan on the steel lines soon..

I can attest to the cryo treatment. I purchased my drilled AND slotted cryo-treated rotors (by Sub-Zero ) about 4 years ago.
I was doing an auto-cross about every other month and drove to the Dragon and back twice. I had a major accident (with these rotors on) last year in which the lower control arm broke and actual ricocheted off the rotor with enough force to puncture the inner-side of the wheel! I kept these rotors.
One day Speedworksracing (josh) called me and asked if I had a spare set of rotors ... i told him all I had was these cryo'd ones from the wrecked car. Keep in mind I had put over 60k miles on these rotors prior to the accident and never turned them. I told Josh i had no idea what their condition was and wasn't sure if they were any good ... but, took them to him anyway (he was in a pinch for a pre-paid race at Roebling Road.) He said his friend had them 'turned' anyway ... and only 1 rotor was warped. He used them that weekend at Roebling and when I got them back I just bolted them back onto my car and am still driving on them. Probably 90k+ miles on them total and only had them turned one time.
I also have NO cracking and very little little rust or discoloration. In my opinion ... worth twice what I've paid.
