Default Autocross Practice/Driver's School + Event

Attention all Jax area S2000 autocrossers, or anyone with an S2000 that wants to get into autocross for the first time. The Buccaneer Region of the Sports Car Club of America is hosting a big autocross weekend June 18-19 at Whitehouse Airfield out on the Westside. A driver's school/practice will be held on Saturday the 18th, and an actual autocross competition will be held on Sunday the 19th. Each event will be $25 ($20 if you're a member of the SCCA). You can do one event or the other if you want, but I recommend both .

For more information, try Buccaneer Region SCCA.

You will need to register for both events by June 15 at the myautoevents.com link on the Buccaneer page.

Myself, converted, jesusphish and another non-S2ki S2000 were all at the last event, and it was a blast. Hopefully some more S2ks will show up next time.

Any questions, just shoot and I'll do my best to answer.

This event is for scottl. He is the autocross champ around this area. He will probably come up from Largo to do it. I will let him know.

Matt - sounds great but maybe next time. That's Father's Day weekend so I'm a bit busy plus Bryan and I have a few safety upgrades we need to do before hitting the track again.

I have been wanting to try a Bucc event as well as one of the GCAC's, however my work/school schedule will not allow it. The next event I will be able to do is at the end of the semester- chinmotorsports @ Sebring July 30-31st. Hopefully I'll have more time between semesters or next year after I graduate...

matt- I'll be attending the practice on Saturday, but I fly out Sunday morning at 8am and won't be able to participate in the autocross. I'll see you June 18. My tread is ridiculous right now, but I should pass inspection. I'll wait until the next one to get new tires. Besides, drifting around that last cone was pretty exciting.

Hrmmmm.....I can't do the Sunday event, but I am gonna look into the practice day for sure. I have always wanted to try this, and I think the practice day would be a good way to get my feet wet.

Thanks for the post!

Matt, I'll be there, but I thought that the event was moved to the rght due to some military event. I'll look into it more. I might have just misread it.

Craig- glad to hear you're coming. I think Sat will be a great day.

James- this event was originally scheduled for the 25/26 weekend. It had to be moved up to 18/19 due to military activity.
