Anyone want to help me change brake pads?
Could anyone help me change Tracie's brake pads on her Cavalier? It has been many years since I have done this and I am not sure of how fresh my memory will be or how long/hard it will be to do myself.
So if anyone is off tomorrow and would like to help me it'd be appreciated.

If Jacksonville wasn't so far, I'd love to help. I've changed many a brake pad back when I had a Cavalier pulling double duty as daily driver and autocross car.

i believe cavaliers should be shot and killed , it might help it along w/o pads but then... the driver... yeah downfall of all good plans.
anywho.. all calipers are the same.
theirs 2 bolts that have rubber grommets on them that allow them to move (when u press brakes casue its a 1 piston caliper)
remove those 2... pull off the top hat piece.. remove pads.
remove the cap off the brake fluid. under hood
compress the piston w/ like a flat wrench just push it in like 1/4"
put new pads into the hat.. put onto rotor.. if they dont fit compress piston more.. u really cant hurt the piston.. given your pushing fluid back into the system but its not like its an nsx.
put onto rotor.. put 2 bolts in.. get into car and push brakes a few times b4 u get driving.
should be fine.
u dont really need to bleed brakes ona cavalier so dont even fret it

You should open the bleed screw BEFORE pushing the caliper piston in. It is NOT good for the hydraulic system to push the old brake fluid back in to the system, especially if you have ABS brakes. This is a good time to flush the fluid in the brake system. Brake fluid absorbs moisture "water" that destroys the components. Buy a pint of DOT 3 brake fluid.
If you want to make a trip to St. Augustine with the car and parts I will help you change the pads and flush the system. I have all the tools required to do the work.
PM me if you want to come to my place to change your brakes.
