Anybody live in Gainesville?

Hey all. Looks like I'm heading to Gainesville for a year in January to get a Master's degree. So now I gotta find a place with a garage to rent! I've found a couple websites, but the realtors have not been very responsive. Anybody got some tips on where to live? Good realtors? Places to stay away from? Proximity to UF campus? Hell, anyone need a roommate? 
Anyway, if any of you Gainesville folks have some helpful info on finding a place in Gator-land, I'd much appreciate it.

Find a house for rent in the Student Ghetto.
I haven't lived in Hogtown for years, but I spent plenty of time there.
You find some funky old houses within walknig distances to campus which should suit your needs.
Good luck, and be sure to go to the Salty Dog for a beer once you arrive!
