Hi, i live in south georgia, valdosta that is and the honda dealer down here is..... lets just say they don't have the best rep. I have some valvetrain noises and some maintenance i cant perform myself.

Anybody in this area have experience with "good" mechanics and suggestions where i can take my S to have a valve adjustment and maybe retainer replacement done? Thanks!!

There probably is a decent place in Gainesville. But in Jax there is Velocity Trends and Stage6.

No Jacksonville is not to far, i'd rather drive 2 hrs for a trustworthy place then 10min for a crappy one. As a matter of fact, i bought the car in jacksonville, but from a mitsubishi dealer.

So whats in Jville....?

I've had good luck with Duval Honda, but a couple of friends have had experiences that seemed kinda fishy (something else breaking after they got their car back). I really don't think they would do that - it had to be coincidence.

And Velocity Trends (http://www.velocitytrends.com) ...they did my valve adj.

Both Stage6 (formerly SpeedCraft) and Velocity Trends are very experienced with the S2000. I'd probably go there before the dealer.

sweet, i go on leave end of the month, but i'll check them out when i get back from home. I had a lot of engine problems with my last car. So i'm kinda paranoid. It seems like whenever i baby a car, it f... up on me. My beater car, a 94 sentra, no oil change, no sparkplug, drive it like the devil - not one problem.

The guy i bought it from said, he never opend the hood and it always did fine for him. lol. which mine was like that
