in the UK. Europe is more expensive that the US right now, considering the Euro is stronger. Especially in these days. In the UK they're about 5k dollars cheaper for some reason so I shot at the hip, even if I never driven RHD

Yeah up the Isles it's mostly dark and cold. From the pictures it didn't have much under the undercarriage. Thankfully my brother is living in the UK and he looked at it. But I'm sure there's some in there. Yeah and you're probably right about importing it. I just had to have one. I figure I would sell it after 4 years of driving it here or if it's an option maybe import it and wait till 25 years to make it road legal. It's an 07 so I would have a long wait but I think it's definitely worth it. I've have a 1971 Fiat 500 here. I'll probably ship that next year to the States, and start asking all my questions about shipping the Honda then. The previous owner said the last time he looked into it, it was around 5k to convert to US Spec but I haven't done my research. I just figure I'll drop it by a Honda dealership and ask for a quote.

Curious to know how you’re getting on with your RHD. What did you manage to get in a car, mileage etc etc? The way prices are now going you stand a very good chance of not loosing very much on your purchase, should you wish to sell before returning to the Sates.

With a bit of surfing on the used S2000 market you can quite easily pick out a well cared for example. Many are only used as summer time drives, and as such have very little rust. I managed to pick up a couple of low mileage examples in the past year and am very pleased with what I got. If you can find an enthusiast owner much rather than a dealer, you stand much better chance of getting a cherished example in very good condition.

It took me awhile to get used to RHD in a LHD world but it was well worth it. I got a 2007 that had been sitting for awhile with 52,300 miles. And I've only put on 2000 miles on her this summer. I just flushed all the oils, got the wheels resurfaced, and changed the belt on her. Almost no rust, besides the windshield wipers. It needed a paint job and the way things move in Italy, I didn't want to wait all summer to have it painted. So I found a local shop that did a nice wrap on it. I think it turned out well. I will probably get it painted right before I try to sell it, depending on how the wrap holds up. The plan is to keep it as stock and mint as possible.

Yeah you're right the prices keep going up on these things. I hope the bubble doesn't pop when I'm trying to sell it. I'll be living in Italy for another 3-4 more years. I plan to just suck it up and pay the customs import fee and try to sell it here. Here in mainland europe the prices are high for LHDs. I'm hoping people might take interest in mine, since it's RHD. I gave up on trying to import it. I'm just trying to put enough money back in my pocket to buy another one in the States when I return. It's just a thought right now but I'm hoping to find 07 - 09 AP2 with a blown motor, just so I can buy a new F20C engine and throwing that in there. I love the sound at 9k rpms and the AP2 only go up to 8,2-8500k. The F20C is the way Honda intended it to be. And if I have any extra money, I'd like to supercharge it. Not a collectors mentality, only because I'd like to keep one forever.

I know a few guys on the European mainland that drive RHD S2ks, for the very same reason.........and that there are more UK cars available to choose from. Most of them regularly attend the UK Megameets so it works out quite well for them too.

How are you getting on with your ownership? Did I see you had it up for sale?
