Track days for 2004
Has anyone thought about getting to-gether for some track day fun this year?
I think SPA in Belgium or Zandvoort in the Netherlands would be good choices.
Does anyone else have an opinion?
What we need is a good organiser, any volunteers?
Come on Guys, if you've never tracked your S2000, you're not doing it, or yourself justice!

Errr.... I'm definitively not volunteering.... But a track day does sound like fun! (Never done it with my own car though..!)
Good initiative and let's see who chimes in.

P.S. Now if only I knew for sure my work wouldn't get in the way

Hi,
Well I haven't posted here for a long time, but I'm still a S owner. In regards to a track day, that sounds really interesting. I have only been racing at the ring, but sure Spa could also be interesting, I've seen a few races there and the track is sure famous. But I guess it would be quite expensive so rent Spa for such a small group as us.
In 2002 a few guys from this forum rented a track at Pau in France (close to Spain), that was not wildly exspensive, but it was also a very small track and surely not a F1 track.
The ring cost around 50-70 EUR for 6 laps (almost 20 km), so you can't call that expensive. But sure the ring has it's problems:
There can be a lot of people there espcially in weekends, a few guys from this forum went there in the days around easter 2002, and it's was completely packed up there.
Bikes drive together with cars, and this sure gives some potential dangerous situations, since the brake / acceleration characteristics of the two types of vehicles are very different.
No flying laps, after each lap you have to go in and put your ticket back in for another lap.
The positive things in my view are:
Absolutely beatifull track, with a lot of difference in height.
Very difficult to drive perfect, since it has something like 75 corners where 60 are blind as far as I remember.
Best regards
