Hi,

I was inspired by this board about the American TSB's regarding the clutch of our beloved S2000. I also found out that there's a similar TSB out for English S2000's. Well I just went to my dealer today and complained about the noise level. (My clutch sound was getting worse and worse, it was getting as bad as my first S2000).
The service manager found out about the Honda Netherlands Service bulletin and immediately ordered the new clutch and they put it in next week. First I hear a Dutch S2000 gets a new clutch! I probably have taken longer to complain if it wasn't for this board!

I suggest strongly to investigate whether your clutch makes too much noise. You're likely to hear it when in 2nd, 3rd or 4th gear and decelerate from 4000RPM to 2000RPM. You can also notice some 'clunking' in the clutch-pedal. I think it's a good service, afterall I have already done 20.000KM with the current clutch.

Sun,

they're going to put it in next week, so I don't know the sound yet. Luckily I'll be on holiday next week so don't miss the S2000.

Hi gchatzi,

welcome on this board. Always nice to see a new face. You can order the leather from Rick's leather It doesn't come cheap, but looks great!

Ronald,

I had my clutch replaced in Luxembourg under warranty too. But unfortunately the new clutch just resolved the problem temporary as the decelarating noise is coming back again after 10.000km.

And please be careful with certain dealers especially the ones that sell an S2000 once a year. Steve from Luxembourg had his clutch replaced by some unexperienced mechanic who messed up his whole transmission (he could not shift into 6th gear any more). So one good advice : if the decelerating noise is not that loud just leave it like it is.

Victor.

Victor,

luckily my dealer knows the S2000 (they sold over 20), so I'm quite confident in their abilities. In the UK forum and the Car Talk there was mention of a new TSB (TSB55) which mentions a new clutch design. It's the 3rd design as far as I know, so hopefully all problems are solved. My mechanic explained it that there are some springs connected to the clutch. These springs will start vibrating and resulting in the deceleration noise.
