Homemade headrest windblockers for dummies
#1
As everybody has seen of course Bluescream started a thread regarding this subject. But unfortunately no pictures yet. So I took the liberty to take some pictures of my project. Strange thing though that the original photos of MajorHavoc showed red seats with a black rearplastic. Is this another difference between US and European models? See the picture at: Majorhavoc's wind blocker
Well since I made these pictures after I made this mod I thought why not show the process backwards?
Well it shows I cannot spell right, but this is the endresult, I used a silvery kind of seethrough plastic. You can hardly see it, but if you look for it it looks cool.
It's very easy to remove the plastic piece, just pry it loose with your fingers.
If you're a good observer then you'll notice I couldn't do it with my left hand. Had to change to righthand, since it's difficult to take a picture at he same time! But either hand will work (Remember this is a dummies guide!)
Voila, this is how it should look like without the plastic thingie. If you look closely you see that the leather (is it really leather?) is put together with Velcro.
Yep that's the plastic headrest windblocker that's got to go in the hole you just created.
Here you see all needed objects to assemble you headrest windblocker.
This is shows what type of binder I used to create the headrest windblocker. Just use the plastic thingie as a template.
This is a closeup of the inside of the plastic thingie. You can see the clips which hold it to the chair.
All in all a cheap and doable mod. This guide took me more time than the process itself.
This guide was loosely inspired by this brilliant post (which was inspired by yet another post):
