FRANCE S2000 rental?
I am coming to France to travel around for two weeks and want to know if any car rental places or Honda places actually rent the S2000?? It would be fun to drive since I am used to my own since 2001. Thanks, Ina

I lived in france for a little while and I can't remember ever seeing an s2k. Like Graphtuner said, Z3, Z4, SLK, TT, Boxster, etc are much more popular and probably easier to find to rent.
But then again, I lived in Nantes, where everyone drives a Twingo haha.

France is one of the worst countries for sports cars, let alone Jap cars!
French people don't care for fast cars, they want diesel cars that don't consume gas!
Good luck renting a real sports car and you won't find an S2000.
You'd be better off driving your S2000 there...
Never seen an S2K in France...I've seen more Ferraris, Porsche and Lambos. French people hate Japan cars! But they love their 80hp diesel French ''cars''....

Whoah! You don't like generalisations then?
Never seen an S2K in France = they don't have them??
Have you had a look at S2000.fr?
A word of advice, if France seems that horrible and backwards, make sure you don't go and live there for any length of time. You may not survive with the diesel exhaust fumes.

Just the insurance companies alone won't insure many sports cars if you're under a certain age and if they do insure you the prices are very high!
Maybe I was with the wrong group of people while in France, but when I was there no one cared about anything remotely powerful and seemed to consider a 120hp car ''fast''... This was amongst young people, young professionals and older people.
Usually the nice cars I saw were all from Germany or other countries. I know France has some, but not as much as other countries.
I'm not saying France is horrible and backwards. I like France a lot and find French people very friendly! But as far as car goes it's pretty hard to buy, insure and keep a car.
This thought doesn't come from be but dozens of people I've spoken to over there, and it goes for rich people and less fortunate ones. People that have expensive cars and other things are sometimes looked at with a bad eye.
Yes I've seen S2000.fr and it's a very cool website with lots of friendly S2K owners. But even they admit that it isn't easy owning a car like an S2K in France.
I know France has S2Ks but not a lot; buy who cares? It's not a country that likes Jap cars and that is perfectly normal with Germany not far away and so many cheap French cars available.
I hope I didn't offend you...

Us Brit S owners have done a couple of group France trips, 9 of us did a meet with 6 French S's that was the second largest S meet in France!
S owners number ~350 in France. Pretty unlikely you'll find one for hire.

(just kidding hehe)
On another note there are tons more BMWs and Audi in France!
And at least they don't go for the SUV trend like us in North America...

Thanks all! You have made me decide that another Twingo might be in order for this next trip. Let me know if I can ever help you all out. (any diesel powered Twingos?)
