Driftcursus video @ midland circuit NL
Hi there,
Since moving in the Netherlands I'm missing the weekly mountain roads expeditions and meetings I was doing with the Italian S2k club when back there,
So went to get my dose of rpms the first weekend of august in the driftcursus day at Midland Circuit.
Thought it would be a nice following of tight turn on a wide open space but when I understood it was to be done on a oval track with only two nice long curves I got a little stressed ....
At first I was a little retained and cautious, and once gotten the trick it was a joy to shoot out of these turns sideways at 8500rpms
So I thought I would share the little vid I made

Midland Circuit at Lelystad, right?
Cool video
Weren't you afraid of hitting or getting hit by another car?
At some point, especially in the beginning, you were all very close.
How about track days?
There is a thread about that in this forum and there are 4-5 Sun-track-days left on the Assen TT circuit this year.
As soon as my gearbox is fixed (sec reduction bearings - end of September) I'm going.
The Assen Tt circuit is a bike circuit, IOW you'll have to do your best to hit something.

Were these your expensive new tyres..?

Yes this where my new tires ........ I changed the rears a couple days before, because the old ones where literaly flat and I thought I had done a big mistake when I saw the two long curves ..... But to my surprise they didnt suffer much ! The rear right shows a little wear on the shoulder but nothing that bad !! For an entire day of fun, I'm pretty happy with the wear. Thx to the frequent watering of the track (every 20 min approx) .

Hey Tony,
nice learning effect!
nice learning effect!
Yes indeed ... quite a steep learning curve .... but that was all over an entire day, and I have to say I could have added a couple other spins at the end
But by the way , who's Tony ?
