Default Buying Mingster CAI and FLCB

Have you seen the Spoon CAI replica ?

Who has interest in buying the CAI and or FLCB from Mingster here in Europe?

Has any of you experience with goods (and customs ) from overseas ?

The link to Mingsters CAI (Christmas in July):

Maarten, I have the Spoon CAI installed on my car. I got it through Taka Kaira in Japan. Shipping and customs was approx. 100 NLG and delivery delay was 4 weeks. You will see the CAI next Saturday if you want. Results are quite impressive.

Victor.

Yes, as expected the intake is the way to go for higher performance.
I'm thinking already one step beyond but that is still a secret . I don't mean the supercharger...
Looking forward to this fine weekend and seeing you.
I'm grateful for your assistance at the hotel!!! TNX

No problem Marteen, you're welcome.
Now I'm really curious to know what you mean by a "step beyond the CAI". If not the supercharger what could it be : new ECU, Mugen headers, turbocharger, V8 engine

Hi Luis, no I haven't done any measurements yet but I had the car dynoed stock. Pancho and I will be planning a dyno day soon.

What I mean by "quite impressive" is certainly just a "feeling": the car "feels" faster especially at low rpm ( I have the impression to have more torque).

But I agree with you, this remains very subjective. I think the best way to test the mod would be to race against a stock S2000 but again there are a lot of external parameters to consider.

So just bare with what I'm feeling.

Victor,

the general concensus is that you cannot dyno the CAI difference, unless put everything in a windtunnel. The CAI is effective because of highspeed drivewind which you don't get when dynoing.

Ronald, cold air intake certainly show improvements on the dyno. This is due to the induction of cooler air from outside the engine. However what is not really measurable is the ram air effect as dyno fans don't simulate a moving car effectively.
But anyway the dyno run will give you a good indication of the performance improvements.

The ram air effect is an interesting one.

The theory goes that given enough intake air pressure the torque curve extends a little bit on the upper ranges, that is, instead of dropping off so quickly as they usually do past their peak point they hold it for a little while longer.

The result is that max power can go significantly higher. But it does little or nothing below max torque.

In our car any ram air effects will only be felt between 8 to 9krpm and from 3rd upwards. Should be good for those max speed records on the autobahn

Hi Luis,

last week I was driving behind Pancho (he has the MG Racing CAI)
and he was really pulling away, we went both WOT. So yes it's a noticable effect. I immediately wanted it as well! Also the sound is quite wicked.
