Default Battery leak - Major corosion

Hi Guys

A few days before I went up to Bart, to get the car upgraded I discovered some white powder on the plate holding the bateri in place. At the time there was no doubt, that it was some kind of acid powder. After the upgrade I did not have time to look at it, and actually totally forgot about it after the S was put into winter storage.

But today I had a look at it, and it was really not good, the metal bracket holding the battery in place was totally coroded and all the paint could just be peeled off. The two rods holding the screws where also heavily coroded, but I was able to unscrew the screws, and get the battery out. So I got everything cleaned up, and got all the corners washed and dried pretty good. But for the next service I'll have to change all the metal plates and parts holding the battery in place.

There must have been a leak or spill over in the battery one should seem, I'll have a check on the battery soon again to see if it is a leak.

Do you think such a thing get repaired under waranty, and do we have 1 or 2 years here in Europe ?

SUN:
Take pictures of the damaged locations, print these and show them to H service manager.

SUN,

that's bad. In the Netherlands we have 3 year or 100.000KM guarantee.
The battery should be covered, as well as the repair for the damage IMO.

When my car gets back from the garage (it's being fixed this week) I'll
check it as well.

Gentlemen,
If you're in the garage and in the mood: check the (loose) spark plugs under the cover and the (loose) oilplug too .
