Following a little accident in January involving ice, a motorway and some armco, I was on the verge of selling my S after only 4 months of ownership. Boy, am I glad I kept him. It truly is a relationship that takes time to grow. If I can keep up with the boys on the twisties, but also deal with Italians at rush hour on the Riviera, including darn mopeds and countless sirens, I can drive anywhere! And all in a right hand drive car!

My group were fab!! Ably organised by Andy2000 and coached in the ways of driving on the continent by Johnsie (Mr Mankini in the pool!).
There were 9 of us on the German Way Down, which was a hoot. We all got on so well, some of us (VicSport, Effing Jeff, Guiness, and me and Mr Dinibird) went to Lake Garda for some tunnel action on the Sunday, where the famous clutch burning incident happened for Effing. We all looked after him, driving as slowly as possible, until we realised his S would have to be abandoned at a service station. 40kmh on the motorway just wasn't safe! Guiness had a spare seat, so we hotfooted it back to Levico for the Gala Dinner, only arriving 30 mins late, but too late to hear the great man's speech.
It was such a time of bonding (!), that although we were all going to go our separate ways back to Blighty, we decided to head back through France together, minus poor Effing, but plus Andy2000. On the 4 day journey back we took in the delights of the Italian and French Riviera, Monaco, Nimes, over the Millau Viaduct (in the pouring rain unfortunately), up through Clermont Ferrand, past Rouen. All just in time for the end of the French fishermans strike to end fortunately.
We have become such good friends we are going to meet up in the Summer. No arguments and such great senses of humour. I love them all!!
So, GWD and French Way Back, were lots of fun!
