Default Was this your first Dragon event?

We had a lot of "first timers" at WTD this year.

If this was your first S2K Dragon event, please give us your feedback and thoughts...

- What surprised you?
- What did you like / not like?
- Suggestions for making "newbies" feel welcome
- Random thoughts....

(Praises also welcome, of course!)

I had a blast. I wish it would not have rained. I would not change a thing. I actually liked that the Dragon was closed beyond the 11 mile stretch. It kept out the through traffic.

I had tons of fun up there. I would have to say that getting to hang out with the UMW crew was awesome, and meeting so many people from the other groups was great. It was strange having no phone/internet except the random wi-fi in the lodge. All around good fun.

We thought the program was well run. I think Marcie was not aware we were going to drive so fast on the Dragon. I thought it was much fun!!

THe Poker run and the Beer swap were neat. We both liked that (Marcie would like to have seen more wine people)

I do hate the bonfire got rained out.

You guys did a great job of setting this up. We plan to come again.

Oh my gosh, this was my first event, and I had a blast. I totally enjoyed spending quality time with the NY Metro crew with as well as meeting new people. The location of the village was perfect. Thank you to all of the organizers - it is much appreciated. I learned a lot, and my healthy respect for this event has turned into an infatuation. Seeing an S2000 parked in every driveway was probably the funniest part of the event for me...

Yes - and no. I've been rolling over there since the late 70s (usually in someone else's ride) but this was my first S2000 Dragon meet.

Kudos to the organizers for their great work. I was sort of glad for the afternoon rain on Saturday. I caught up on a bit of rest in a very restful place and gained a days respite from planting more stuff on Sunday.

Think you post here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...post&p=12379325

but it seems to have gone where my t-shirt and magnet are..

Seriously though - Thanks to all of the organizers for putting on such a great event. I was fortunate that I had a fair number of people from my region (including experienced WTD people) so I was able to pick up tips before heading down.

I'll have to give your questions some more thought before I answer. I'm still digesting the weekend!

First time here. didnt want to leave and cant wait to go back.

If your going to the dragon, leave your ego at home.

Great event and a great chance to meet people and bond with the car and enthusiasts alike. Southern hospitality at its finest.

What surprised me? how friendly everyone was at the event and the whole community in and around including the imports, bikers, etc.

Great feedback folks. Thanks for posting this Sheila.

I knew there were a lot of new names on the nametags as I printed them...but it was a real shocker to see how many hands went up on Saturday night. I wish I would've spent a bit more time on the Driver's Meeting on Saturday morning.

It's easy to get into the mode that everyone has "been here, done that."

Although it hasn't been brought up...I think we need some suggestions for the itinerary. I think it's brilliantly done...but I heard entirely TOO MANY people say they didn't read it and many didn't print it and bring it.

DBRX will likely feature a "quick itinerary" on the nametag...but we should think of some ways to improve that information.

Improving the registration process is also one of my top priorities. In the future, the t-shirt orders, magnet orders, etc will be triple checked.

We'll celebrate 10 years of Dragon-goodness this September during DBRX and I think after 10 years, that portion of the event should be AWESOME!
