WTD 06' Dates
I know the official date for WTD 06' hasnt' been stated yet however I've heard through the "he say, she say" that it will most likely be April 21st - 23rd. Well, I just happened to come across a thread in another forum & apparently the Prelude group is going to be there as well that same weekend.
Here is the post the person organizing the event made.
The bad part regarding this, from what I've understood last year they had alot of problems with numerous inexperienced drivers on the road and caused an accident or two.
Just wanted to bring this to everyone's attention.

This is the second year we are doing this and from experience let me tell you, if you dont do this road (US Rt129) you suck at life.....no really.
I am madcatz (travis) on the site and a Planner to help out. I will be organizing a drive for the Mid-Atlantic group...My drive will start in Norfolk, VA and I will meet up whoever needs help or wants to Caravan.....Get your Opinion in now before its too late

This is not an event to compete with NPM or NOPI or anything....it just so happens that the Road is in NC/TN.....I stress road for the following reasons:
Its public transport
there are and there will be others on the road
Dont Cross the Line is the best thing you can remember up there.
and our mishap last year......
A guy didnt have insurance and was driving with a very inexperienced friend ahead of him.....a mishap happened on the road and David (scorpionlude) almost lost his life, thankfully he walked away with a few scratches and a lost lude. Because of someone else negligence of not having insurance David is now forced to pay for 2 cars because of the NC 1% clause....I dont know how to explain the 1% rule, but if you venture over to AP and read his thread/blog you will understand.
We cannot STRESS enough the fact we want a SAFE and fun weekend. There will be a disclaimer that you are required to sign if you wish to attend with our group. If you do not wish to sign the waiver and provide us your proof of Insurance we cannot stop you from driving, but you will not be welcome in our group and Im pretty sure police involvement will happen. All we want is a nice fun time up in the mountains with some driving, some drinking, alot of partying and a great get together that will leave us all with great memories.....
April 21,22,23 are our dates we are choosing, the weekend after Easter. It is the open weekend in April at the dragon and is still gives people time to prep for NPM in June
APRIL - Rotor Toaster Spring
May - <open>
JUNE - National Prelude Meet
July - <open>
AUGUST - Rotor Toaster Summer
SEPTEMBER - NOPI
October - <open>
This is the schedule we are hoping for.....I will not be at the summer event, but the Spring event is almost a go
I will lead the Caravan for the Mid Atlantic Group and whomever else that wants to join....I will start in Norfolk, VA, but will meet up with people as we deem fit.....I have no problem driving a lil out of the way to meet up with people, but like driving to Boston just to go to NC is not something id like to do.....
if you have any questions please feel free to PM me here or over at RT

That reminds me...I need to have Tail of the Dragon.com list us in their calendar of events...
As w1ngman shared...there will always be bone heads on the Dragon. As long as we play it safe...we will have lots of fun!

Just another time to show which group of owners has the fewest stupid members. We usually do pretty well in that regard.
