Default Winter Wonderland on the Cherohala

How many of you took the Cherohala Skyway today? The snow & ice was incredible. We took some video, but I have no way of hosting it.

I'm so glad I just got new S02's before the event. I really enjoyed going 10-25 mph for much of the drive.

The ice and snow was a blast, though I wasn't looking forward to a slip-n-slide even on the skyway. I only have pictures, but would love to see the video.

Wow, you went through that shit? Mary and I got to the top and nearly got stuck in the pull off at the top. It was all ice with water on top. We wussed out at that point and went back down the way we came. The next stretch of road from the pull off at the top looked just like the pull off. Glad you made it back to Alabam.

Kim and I drove that way on our way home monday afternoon. The roads were dry on monday .

Saturday afternoon we went up to 4,000 feet and turned around because the roads were getting slick and I didn't feel like rolling another car on black ice.

Glad you all made it home without any major problems.

we did.... rolled the whole way through it as well... my wife's an avid photographer, and in the moments we were stopped, she got some great shots of the snow. i'll be posting them shortly (i hope).

still, we took it at a slow pace and it made for a pleasant enough drive. not to mention, the back side was quite a bit of fun...
