Whitewater Rafting @ Dragonball!

Whitewater Rafting @ Dragonball!
I am planning a whitewater rafting trip for Friday before the DragonBall Run. The river is the Ocoee (Oh-Ko-Ee ) and it's an exciting 5 mile trip that lasts about 1.5 hours. The river is dam controlled so you're guaranteed good water flow. A friend and I did the same trip in '02 and we had a blast. We used the Nantahala Outdoor Center and they did an excellent job and our guide(s) rocked. So, no reason not to return. Anyone interested?
The trip starts at 9:30am and is about 30 minutes from the hotel below (we'll leave promptly at 9). It's about 90 minutes from Knoxville if you're staying there. They do an instructional session (about 30 minutes), then take you up to the drop-in zone where you practice paddling and whatnot, then wait for the dam to open. 1.5 hours on the river, and we're back to base camp around 1pm. There are showers and changing rooms.
To follow up the trip, we'll take 68 up to Tellico Plains, grab lunch, and head east on a little road called the Cherohala Skyway which happens to take us to Deal's gap...
To get in our trip, call 888-905-7238, press #2 for whitewater rafting. You want to get in on reservation #160426 under the name Bathke. This is the Friday, August 26 - 10am trip. Price is $39.50 per person. There are 7 spots on this reservation (not including me and my +1) and the reservation is held until Aug 6 at 5pm - Call ASAP! If you want to get in after that, there is no guarantee of open seats (there were 14 spots left when I called), but you can still get in on the trip using the above reservation # (so you'll be on the same boat). If we get 10 people on the trip, the price goes down $3 per person. Again, call soon if you want in.
