Tail of the Dragon in Road & Track

Unfortunately, and I hate to say this... the inevitable result of this kind of attention will either be stepped up enforcement or some sort of speed limitation. Keep fighting that stuff at the local level, if you can, you guys who live out there.
If nothing else, be glad you guys are pioneers. You have had the good fortune in your life to essentially discover, and repeatedly run, one of the coolest driving roads in the world. I wish I'd had my chance...
You just have to smile when you're lumped in with the cagers and simply know better.

So the motorcycle guys are angry with a few of us because there is 1 stretch on the dragon that it is possilbe to hit triple digit speeds in an automobile?? I see plenty of motorcycle guys hitting these speeds on other sections of the dragon all the time.
David, can you post a link to what they are angry about? Do they not believe it's possible?
In all fairness he did misquote what I said. He asked me what our top speed was on the dragon and my response was "There is one stretch of relatively straight road on the dragon that you can get up to about 105mph on if you know the road realtivly well but you'll be lucky to break 45 to 50 on most of the corners" I have no idea where he got the "hang out the tail part from"
I have a sneaking suspision that the bike guys do not believe it's possible.
