OK.....This pisses me off..!!!!! Since I purchased my "S" in 2003, Sharon & I have NEVER missed the Dragon events... It was the very first S2000 event that we ever attended. Who would have dreamed that by purchasing this car, that we could have ever met such a wonderful group of people, & I DO mean wonderful. From the second that we drove into the parking lot at Hooter's to meet-up with the "Cincy" and Northern Ohio crew, I knew from that minute on.....this was an event that we would NEVER forget, and to this day, we haven't. The smiling faces, laughter, anticipation....and not to mention seeing so many S2000's together, in one place...!!!!...and we, were treated, not as some newbe, but as if we were one of the regulars, taken in, and we "Belonged" to a very special group.!!
I have promoted this event, in the Cincy area, since my first time attending, to every new owner that I meet, and I will continue to do so. Raul and his devoted team have worked on this event for years, for "US".....
I don't want my registration back....!!! They deserve it....!!! All I want is my magnet, and 3 shirts, and my packet.... with lanyard... Why should we, the "Old Timers" and devoted attendees, suffer...for what seems to be, a younger generation, that has nothing but complaints about how this dedicated team, organizes the Wake the Dragon & DragonBall event.???
Sorry for venting...Raul, Ron, Sheila...and the rest of the team, give my money to some of the "Whiners" that apparantly, can't afford to chip-in, with the expenses, to have one of the "Best" times ever, with the S2000...!!!!
The "Cincy Crew" will see you @ Fontana, on Thursday afternoon, April 17th...!!!!

I'm with Looter on this one.
To all the organizers and assistants i say thank you for the tremendous efforts you have put forth in the past and hope fully will in the future.

I look forward twice a year to the Dragon events and hope that they continue in the same way with a full load of activities including the meals, magnets, shirts and whatever else that can be added to enhance the experience.

The few dollars that are charged for the fun and fellowship we receive is well worth it. I consider it a bargain.

If it was put to a vote, i am convinced the majority of owners would elect to go for all the add ons.

Ive had my say. Now I am going to lie down I'm not used to all this typing

^^ I'm with Looter and Bat on this also. In the last week, going to WTD has caused me some personal grief yet I choose to still go. Screw the upstarts!

Keep it the same.

Raul a refund is not necessary. This event has always been a class act, put together by class people. and your fees for what we get are cheap at twice the price. The registration is cheap. It's just money!

Each year I plop down anywhere form $900 to $1200 to drive to, attend and participate in this event. If I had saved my money I would have forced induction in my car, but without your event - I probably would have sold the car by now. For me, thats how important your event is. Or to put it another way:

Wake The Dragon registration $75
Gas to/from $250
vendor purchase $200 to $300
Room & board $600.00
Annualized cost of car ownership approx $10,000/year
WTD fellowship and fun - absolutely priceless!

I'll say this. In the past some of us had jobs that could let us get things like full color printing for the event books for free, which kept overall costs down. Those resources no longer exist, so those books now cost at least $2 each to print. Little things like that add up when you make 200+. Believe me, we've either LOST money or broken even every year. Nobody is making a nickel off of these events.d. Also consider that over the last 6 years, things like shipping costs, etc have gone up. It takes $$ to get 200+ t-shirts from a screen printer to Fontana Village, since we use a vendor in another state -- and they wouldn't fit in an s2000 anyway. In general, "the cost of doing business keeps going up."

Also, we tried the 'a la carte' options for shirts, magnets, etc a couple of years ago to keep prices down, and I think most people will remember the outrageous line at check-in that ensued when we tried to make sure folks got the correct goodies that they paid for. The 'everything for one price' model is a huge time saver for us in the 2 days pre-even that we spend making packets and setting up. It's also a time saver when you have to wait in line.

Im not a "hater" but Im far from a bandwagoner , I backed up a friend - and posed additional questions that were asked several times over (during and after past events) by multiple people.

The funny thing is, only a few will step up to say anything.....Wilbur did, and I refuse to let him get the and/or introduced to pieces of lumber by said "bandwagoners" (so my suggestion to you "linesuper" is put a : LOL : or a j/k beside that, d/t it being a threat and that's against the rules )

Im sorry - Im not one to just ass or walk on egg shells.

Besides this whole ordeal isn't b/c of the Price. It's b/c the price has increased and the package has decreased......there are a few other questions posed, but apparently they are blasphemy.
I apologize - you are right - the should have been a It was ment as a joke. I will edit the comment out. But it still amazes me how people can gripe about a couple of bucks and not realize that there complants can demoralize and ultimatly end a good thing. That said, please accept my apology, and I hope to see ya at the Dragon.

I don't get it... Yes, it costs a little bit of money. You gotta pay to play!

If you don't want to pay it, DON'T GO!!! Seems kind of a no brainer to me.

First, let me say I'm in complete agreement with batguano, looter, and the rest of the group in saying I don't need or want my money back, and would be perfectly happy with the way things were. Similarly, I would even be willing to pay more (but throw in the shirts for the guests! ).

As far as your comments, mr. "I can shoot holes in paper"...
First, it seems a difficult argument for me that you're paying more for less. I would love to see this itemized. Was saturday lunch included earlier? Did they have the social events before?
Second, no one ever said your questions were blasphemy. The way I saw it, they were all responded to by the organizers. And to reinforce Raul's point - there are much more effective, considerate, polite, and civil ways to bring up such concerns than posting them on a public forum and starting a stir (which you can't deny was obviously going to ensue).

And it seems a little backward to me, for someone to insist a reference to lumber is a threat and should be removed, and in nearly the same breath refer to his avatar which shows use of a deadly weapon...
