I'll give you whatever support I can from here.
Here is a short list of preperation tasks.

Look for prizes. I usaully purchased three or four top prizes and solicited from vendors. Sometimes some vendors will go big, so the effort can be worth it.

Establish route (pretty much done). google Earth works pretty good as well.

Get volunteers -(probably not a problem) You will need a minimum of 6 (including yourself) but I reccomend having more than one person at each stop, particularly the ones that are distant.

Get cards. Last year we had 112 hands sold. That means you need three decks of cards for each stop, plus a draw deck back at checkin - total of 16 decks.
(Strongly suggest different decks for each stop. It makes it easier to determine if anyone "traded" cards with another player.

have handouts with route, rules, and advertising from vendors (they donate for the advertising). If you need examples to e-mail or show to vendors when asking for support, I can e-mail last years hand-out as an example.

Get bags and markers for volunteers to use. they will also need some sort of sign to mark the stop location. This may not be too much of a problem, if your using the same stop locations of previous years, but it will help the noobs.

Oh, and on Friday night after the event, track done a couple of drunks to validate the hands and rank them for prizes.


Good luck, and I know you will have more fun running this than anything else you have ever done at WTD. At least I have.

Oh yeah, it's has never happened, but have a plan in the event of r***. You will have significant time and funds invested, and you want to be able to recoup it the worst happens. Options are, an alternate time or day, fewer stops at places where you volunteers can get out of the r***, or In the event of a complete cancel, sale of chances at the dinner for the prize packages. YOU DON"T WANT TO BE LEFT "HOLDING" THE BAG ON INVESTMENT.

this is usaully done on Friday afternoon, so FCPD shouldn't be a problem.
