Thanks for all of the comments. I am very good friends with one of your members RLT. I'll be trailering my car down, so more than likely I won't bother those who want to caravan down from the Indy-Cincinnati area, but I appreciate the offers. I know, why don't you just drive the car down? I'm one of those waxers who wants to keep the front end road grime to a minimum. LOL I would rather put the car in a enclosed trailer and not spend the time to detail away bug shit and rock chips. Personal preference.
That's going to be an interesting drive. You might end up starring in one of Killboy's picture sessions. Be VERY CAREFUL! There is no easy way to get to Fontana that doesn't have a large number of very tight curves.
I had to tow mine out a few years ago - about 5000lb with car & trailer. even in my Tacoma, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it may be. still got held up by bikers...

I wouldn't have any hesitation about doing it again, though I certainly hope never to have to.

P.S. I used Trakktape for my front end the first year, then used 3M's spray on clear bra. both worked exceptionally well at keeping road chips to a minimum. this year i plan on just buying more 3M Paint protection film and permanently applying it.
Having my new paint covered in 3M film, the first week of March...

Denny how much coverage are you doing with the 3M film, I've got a bit on my front bumper and lip but no where else. I wish I had more on it.

You probably are aware of this, but just in case... there's a minimum wait time after painting before that product should be applied to the car. Double check with your installer if you haven't!!

If you are trailing that fine car down to Fontana and then cruise around with the group you might want to invest in a clear bra on the car. This will help prevent any issues with the front end. JM2C. Looking forward to meeting you and checking out your MR-2

During the summer month paint has to have a least one month before you can wash and wax the car. With the weather now it might cure faster with the colder temps. Andy is correct with asking more questions. Gee must be nice to have a new paint job but that car has been on a lot of road trips. Looking forward in see you and your better half in April Looter. No Nuts please been there done that
