In Memory of Carolyn Loving
Many of you know Mike and Sharon Loving from many events(Fall Colors, Dragons, etc.). They have been members of the community for some time. You will always find them organizing, helping, and participating in what is good about the community as a whole. They are genuine and sincere in their support.
Mike's mother had been courageously battling cancer for a spell. Sadly, yet comfortingly, her fight has come to a close, and she is no longer in pain. Her passing took place at approximately 0130 Saturday while we were at the Dragon event. Fate would have the rains come early Saturday prompting Mike and Sharon to head into town vice putting in some driving time. It was then that they learned of his mother's departure. They left immediately from Marysville/Alcoa knowing that the community would take care of their belongings. Thank you, Raul(airgate) and Steve(Dragon F6).
They arrived home safely Saturday night to be with their family. It is my understanding from my conversations with Mike that his mother never complained of pain... ever. It was only until her last hours that she succumbed to it and received medication for it. She never wanted to show any weakness to her family. One thing is for certain, she can be proud of how her son turned out.
The family-only viewing is today and the cremation later this week per his mother's wishes. Additionally, Carolyn wanted no money wasted on flowers. It was her wish that any donation(s) be made to her church. Should you be able to do so, feel free to contact them directly or send a check to the address with the note "In Memory of Carolyn Loving." We are sending one on behalf of the "Wake the Dragon" event.

We ask that members remember Mike's father, his family, and Mike himself in their prayers and thoughts. It is a sad thing indeed, but it is comforting to know that she no longer suffers physically.
Mike's screenname is "Mike Loving." Also, fel free to express your feelings for them here.

I met Mike and Sharon for the first time this weekend - I didn't even have to be introduced to them before I knew who they were, because their friendliness and helpfulness clearly stood out.

As hard as it may be for the family, we must all believe that she is in a better place now. I also met Mike and Sharon for the first time this weekend, and in the short time I spent with them, I already saw how kind and friendly they both are. I am sure that she was very proud of both Mike and Sharon.
My best thoughts and prayers go out to Mike, Sharon, and the whole family.
