Raul, have you looked into catering services based in Maryville? Not sure they'd be willing to cart chow to the dam or wherever, but it may be worth a shot - at least for WTD'05.

Seems like Subway is our best bet at this juncture, though the Dragon Grill may be a good option. The Dragon Grill route would also be a good way of repaying the owners for all the times we sit and take up half their parking lot

That is unconscionable! I WILL be calling to express my disappointment and disapproval of their business ethics. I will also inform them at that time that I will NEVER do business with them again. Unbelievable! It appears their word means nothing.

Raul, many thanks for putting all of the Dragonball events together. Let us know if you need any help.

Chic-Fil-A will sometimes come out for events like ours. $7.50 a head would provide a good meal. I don

I was thinking about just printing off this thread and mailing it to the manager's attention, along with a letter. Too much?

I made sure to be as honest and accurate about the events as possible. Just in case folks called to share their displeasure or if folks at Tapoco ever came across this thread.

May as well Sheila. I'm not sure they understand how much future revenue they just blew off.

I already called to share my feelings. I spoke with the manager on duty. She didn't seem to know all of the details of our lunch. She was aware that it had been cancelled. She made it sound initially as if we had cancelled it. I explained that it appears they traded hundreds, more likely thousands of dollars of future income for a $100. Not a very smart trade. Therese and I spent over $400 the weekend of the McDragon. I told the lady we had been considering using their lodge for our spring event. Not any more. I also told her I would never do business with them. She said she was sorry. I suggested she pass this information on to the owners.

THAT'S WHAT I TOLD RAUL!!!!

Seriously! I one of the first things I told Raul once he'd filled me in on this ridiculous episode was that if we have to resort to driving as a group to Robbinsville (a pleasant enough drive in its own right)...we should all take a right turn into their parking lot...oooooone at a time...and do a donut!

Although I'm now pissed to have given my money to them during McDragon, I'm appeased to know that in my book this lil' lodge is now

How much money you want to bet they F&$ked us over for the rx-8 group. My girlfriend's father is the GM at twin cities Mazda in Alcoa and he is going to be attending the Dragon meet as the dealership is one of the sponsors. I may ask him what is up with where they will be eating lunch on Sat.... maybe I should advise them just not to show up and really screw the place over
