WOW...glad to hear you and your wife are ok!

GREAT JOB to avoid a much worse situation! I can't
imagine what that was like when it happened. Would
have been even scarier top down I'm sure!

Did the driver get cited for crossing the yellow? If not
he should have been! It wasn't like he was just over
it a little bit.

Breaks my heart to see an S look that way.

The driver recieved several citaions and a police escort down. Hurts to see the pics but on to my next project car. I'm hoping to pick up another AP1. S2Ki community has been amazing with the support and concern. I met some great people and cars.

Hate to see this happened to you but I hope that it's something
that can be used to try and eliminate large vehicles from that road.

First off, Kris...glad you and the Ms. are ok. What a relief it was to get that news after we saw the grim remains (we hadn't heard anything before at that point and the popo were not there yet.)

I don't know if you recall but you and I were "negotiating" over the sale of your hard top to me the night before during registration. That was me saying "sell me your hard top" and you saying "no!". In case you are wondering, I don't want it now.

Again, so glad to hear you guys are fine. At least you got hit by a company with deep pockets. Hope they take good care of you.

Wingman and I were discussing the issue of Big Rigs on the Dragon and I think it was him who came up with a great idea. Have a height restriction bar between the gravel pit and the Dragon and put another by Deals Gap. This way big rigs will be unable to enter and can turn around and go a safer route. This will no doubt save lives.

I'm not sure you can eliminate heavy truck traffic altogether...the places served by those trucks need that service. But you could certainly set (and enforce) truck length and weight limits. You could also require all trucks over a certain length or width to use fore-runner vehicles.

One of the ladies who works at the Fontana Villiage store/gas station was telling me that the county will provide escort service to any truck that requests it. She was quite relieved to learn that there were no injuries in the wreck, which she had heard about but had not really gotten any details on.

Good news is that me and my wife are ok and home in one piece. I went into that corner @ 15 mph and saw the headlights of semi right in front of me. I threw the car in the ditch to avoid the semi and his trailer struck my car dragging us 5ft back. People @ deals gap gas station and S2ki member were amazing thanks for the help guys. Do you guys think its a total?
Good to hear you both are ok. That is the most important piece.

If they do not take care of your car, I think you would have a very strong case to go to court. the only way to tell if it is totaled is to take it to the body shop.

Is the car in TN or IL?
