I have decided to dothe Obama budget, i.e. (buy everything you wish for whether you can afford it or not.) I am "stimulating" DBR in hopes of raising interest and putting people back on the the job. (I may as well spend it, at the rate $ are being printed, they will be worthless next year anyway).

ECU, controller, gauges, pulley, new belt, injectors, installtion and tune - $3500
Tires - (rear only) $560
gas - round trip $250
food - $210
room & some board $730

grand total not including event fees, shirts, magnets etc - $5250.00 -
And to think...

I know I saw Sheila post that this DBR was going to cost similar to other DBR's!

I find that hard to believe based on these costs!

dude...I paid under $500 for 8 DAYS at the Microtel :/
I have always had the perspective that it's JUST money. Now that doesn't mean I don't have priorities. I'm 60 years old, I grew up poor but managed to put my wife and three kids through college and post grad shool. I have always postponed my desires for others needs and priorities. But last year while I was laying in a cardiac care unit, it occurred to me that this might be "it". "It" modified my perspective quite a bit. So, I live life well, redeeming the days, remembering that time is short, friends are precious, and what the good Lord allows me to enjoy in this life is temporary. And yes, you can do the Dragon for a whole lot less, but the cost is for a full week, as the Dragon experience for me is seven full days of driving through the mountains from PA to Tenn., not just the 3 days at Tapoco.

I hear ya, sir! What day are you coming?

I am scheduled for a High Voltage Demo in Clearfield PA on Wednesday morning and a follow up safety classes through the day, but I am hoping to pass the classes off to my future replacement and leave late in the morning or early afternoon. So, depending on weather, and departure time sometime Thursdays afternoon.
Tthe amount of mountain driving I do on the way down depends on departure time - here is hoping for a 10:00 am blast-off!

I know that when I went down to the dragon I spent approximately $1000. Half of that was in gas.

I have some concern on you budgeting $ 10.00 a day for some of your incidentals, not the water, pop or chips.

Be carefull as you get what you pay for <
