Harley riders have been known to instigate fights at the gas station, even.

You're killing me! You should go to Sturgis, SD for bike week. You'll have a great time and meet great people.

I have a bunch of friends and coworkers that ride, and even build, cruisers... all good guys. I've heard the Sturgis stories, and it sounds like a fun time. Still, I'll never stand up for a Harley rider, because probably 90% of the bad things I've had to deal with on the road were related to Harleys and their riders, with the rest being associated with cell phone usage. It's never guys on Japanese cruisers sport bikes, always Harleys.

In the metro area it's the crotch rockets not the cruisers (Jap or Harley) that ride like retarts. I can see you're going to be a hard sell. I'll do my best to change your mind at some point.

And, for the record, I should say that I've noticed vastly different behavior amongst Harley rides in the midwest/south than I have on either coast. Harley owners think they own the roads here, and it gets worse the closer you get to Mecca, err, Milwaukee.

I have to admit, as I got closer to Sturgis, the worse the road behaviors got. It didn't matter what they were riding. Must have been the anticipation of the good times ahead!

Target fixation. The guy saw the ditch, could take his eyes off of it and went straight to it. On a bike you go where you look. If he had not panicked and locked up the brakes he could have made it or at least avoided the ditch. It was still freakin stupid as hell to try and pass there. but what do you expect from a HarDley rider....

Tom, that's just one less HarDley to get in our way at DBR
