That's what Im thinking. He is a better driver than a mass majority of this forum, but the forum still calls him a horrible driver . When I first saw the video and didnt know, the way he shuffles his hands gave it away. There is a specific technique to shuffle the wheel while driving spirited/racing, which he uses perfectly in the the video.

I for one never said he was a bad driver. He actually has serious skill. As far as 7/10's goes i dont mean speed wise. I meant in the sense of maintaining the car hes not pushing it. If he was lead and didnt have to control speed im sure he would have pushed her hard. His hand shuffling is actually a really good technique for being prepared for turns. While not acceptable to some it allows finer control to turning limit. Im no pro driver nor will i everact like i am but i myself have picked up certain skills and habits enough to know when someone knows what their doing or not.

I never understood the aversion to hand movement...I guess on most tracks the turns aren't as tight as around here, so you can get away with that. But you try on the Dragon and your arms will be so crossed up they almost hit each other. If you get into that situation where you can't physically rotate the steering wheel any more due to your own flexibility issues or maybe your forearms hit each other, what do you do if you need more steering angle? Let go and reposition your hands mid-turn? No thanks! Without really thinking about it, I've noticed that I setup my hands before each turn so that once I'm in the meat of the turn, my hands will be at about 3 and 9 so I can make any corrections very quickly if needed. But that's just me, and I could be doing it wrong, but it seems to work for this situation at least.

Yeah, I don't get the hands thing either. I honestly thought that people where joking the first time I heard them complain about shuffling Just keep control of the car.

I remember both my autox instructor and HPDE instructor stating that other than to shift your hands should never move from their wheel position.
