As a seasoned driver who grew up on the back roads of Pennsylvania, it is with much enthusiasm AND respect that I approach my first time on the Dragon. I have taken every opportunity to talk to Metro folks who've done the run multiple times, and watch any videos I can. Despite this, I've no doubt that I will have lots of questions and much to learn. No amount of preparation can leave you question free for this trip. I also have no doubt that the veteran guys will be more than willing to listen and offer advice. And THAT alone, makes me more confident that I will have a good, safe time. .

First noob question. Will apps like Pandora radio work on the dragon? I have an EVO phone with the amazon cloud player and the music is not stored on my phone. Wont work, will it?
And if this is the wrong place to post this question I apologize.

pandora only works if you have a signal from your carrier right? i don't think you can get service on the dragon as there are no cell towers in that area

The closest data connection I know of is on the boat ramp across from the Harley store, and that's only if you hold your tongue right. Heck, there's barely even GPS down there.

You can get a connection in the lodge and in some of the rooms. Don't count on it though. Sometimes it works...most of the time...well, most of the time you have to talk to the people who are there.

Stop posting pictures of me butt wipe!
Oh yeah, advice. Take it easy your first couple of times through the dragon. It is WAY more taxing than you think it is. It'll make you weary the first few times through. It is very dfficult to react to the dragon all the way through, you have to always be setting up the next turn. Loss of concentration causes accidents.

Seriously! You get about half-way through, finally remember to breathe, and think, "it's not over yet?" Then after a couple times through you think, "it's over already?"

I concur with Markie-poo though...do a run down and back...then take a break at Deal's Gap...check out the tree of shame and reflect on what could happen.
