Future event timing

I haven't been able to make it every year so I don't know how much weight my vote would have anyway (although I try to go as often as possible), but I would go against this. Unless the goal is to make this a retired group trip, myself and others who still have jobs makes it more inconvenient to do it during the week, including using more PTO. You'll have less attendees going I feel like, but maybe that's not a concern? I had a similar issue with the original date of this trip being over mother's day weekend, I realize other groups are down at other times and the idea was to find a time that wouldn't be so crowded, but I wasn't going to be able to make it since I have my Mom and Mother In Law that I needed to spend time with that weekend that was going to prevent me from going. The covid situation did me a favor this year by forcing the move so I can now attend, assuming it's still on.
I guess the question is what's the goal in terms of group(s) of people you want to attend this? I'd argue that since every day is like a weekend for the retired folks, help the rest of out who aren't retired by making it over the weekend still so we don't have to take as much time off. The dragon is well known enough that you're not going to find a perfect time anymore that you don't have other groups to contend with, that just is what it is at this point, so I think you have to determine which clubs you're OK with sharing the weekend with. Also, most of the drives aren't on the dragon anyway, so aside from a lodging perspective, I don't think there'd be too much of an overlap issue. Just my $0.02...

And this is not deciding if we want retired folks or working folks, it is do we want a late April event or June event. April means we have to change the week days to get lodging. June means it can be a Friday Saturday. Back to my original question which is basically do we scrub multiple dates because we cannot get the Friday Saturday. ?

I am tagging Ken @kgf3076 on this thread. I got an email the other day about this year’s event and caught the date for the 2021 event that is listed as the same as this year’s new date.
I have set a deadline of May 17 to determine whether to cancel or proceed. Proceeding will depend on Fontana Village being open, the social-distancing and group size rules. In the event that we are unable to attend, you can elect to be registered for either the Dragon Fall Run which will be held September 11-13 or Rock the Dragon 2021 which will be held June 4-7, 2021.

Currently, the event is basically Friday Saturday. How would a Sunday Monday be any different for PTO? If you can get time off to attend a Friday Saturday event, why could you not get there for a Sunday Monday. (or Monday Tuesday)
