Fontana Village April 06 vs. Sept 06
Wasn't able to make DBR06--but last April, there was a lot of discussion about FV and changes that needed (or suggested) to be made.
Were there changes-for the good, the bad or the indifferent? Most people complained about the lack of phones in the cabins, was that corrected? Has the cell phone reception improved?
Is that poor hard working girl in the dinner room still working pretty much all by herself or has she gotten a co-worker or 2?
*Not meant to "slam" FV, but I am curious as to the improvements promised by the owner-and how the improvements came out.
Hope everyone had fun

One thing that concerned me were some of the complaints I was hearing to Fontana staff. We're there in a group of over 100 cars, and these are the complaints people could have against us:
1. Cars are loud at all hours of the day and night
2. Some of us (myself included) get a bit louder with alcohol
3. FRS radios going off left and right
4. Room/Cabin parties
5. etc.
The Fontana staff seemed very grateful to have us, but if we don't follow up some of our complaints with compliments they will see us as ungrateful and ask us not to come back......this has happened before.
I for one think Fontana Village is the best venue we've used yet - eventhough Knoxville was a blast, Fontana's location couldn't be better. I found all of their staff overly accomodating, and weighed what I paid for my room against what I got - it was just right. Yeah, there's no cell phone reception, but that is out of their control for the most part. They did have wireless Internet, and I wasn't expecting that
In retrospect, you get what you pay for and I didn't go to this meet to enjoy my room accomodations. If anything I prefer to complain to mother nature for keeping the Dragon so wet, but I still had a blast

We stayed in a room in the lodge and found it very clean and everything was in perfect working order. I was not expecting internet access which was pretty cool. I have 0 complaints about the accomodations or staff.

Our hotel room was very nice, well kept and the hotel as a whole was much more well prepared than at our previous visit. I do wish that we had an area to meet as a group but the location more than makes up for the lack of a large parking lot.
It would be nice if they could keep the bar open later on Saturday night since we have such a large group.
