Dragon Fall Run 2021 - signup thread
Hey there guys and gals, word on the street is you may like driving, the mountains, gathering with your friends at the watering hole, or even amazing scenery. If this sounds like you, then lets do it together! If you've been here before, you know the drill. If not, then be prepared for good people, good roads, good food, and maybe a waterfall or three. The signup link is at the bottom of this post.
This is a free event
People seem to like free, but you do have to pay for your own food, lodging, gas, shirts, magnets, drinks, Dramamine, pictures, etc., etc... you get the idea. The meet officially starts Thursday afternoon and goes into Saturday night. Most people arrive on Thursday and leave on Sunday.
There will be drives heading off in all directions at all times of the day and night to do, see, and eat in all sorts of places. All of the official drives will be posted on these forums with additional information for each drive. Some impromptu drives will likely pop up, I'm sure. There will also be a marker board in the lobby that is updated often with sometimes important information since cell phone reception can be spotty or non-existent. Be sure to check it often and feel free to leave a mark! Just don't be offended if a "Ted was here" is erased in favor of a drive update.
It is very helpful if you sign up for your drives ahead of time. This helps you and your drive leaders! Most drives are capped at a certain number of cars, so if you don't sign up you might miss out on that dream drive. I'm sure Ken is working on an official itinerary, but you can pretty well expect the following:
Thursday: Afternoon drive across the dragon to go meet up with some weary travelers, eat, and return in the dark.
Friday: Rookie orientation in the morning and a run to Franklin during the day.
Saturday: A big group drive across the dragon in the morning, followed by a cruise across the Cherohala Skyway.
Thrown in the mix is usually a lot of food, ice cream, some night driving here and there, and Jamie will likely post up an all-day excursion if he hasn't already. Sign up at the link below. I hope to see you there!
