Thank you to everyone who donated for the Blount County Rescue Squad! Also thank you to Oscar for putting in extra effort to try to make the Auction happen and for coordinating and handling the donation. Even though the auction didn't pan out, we were able to donate $200 to the Blount County Rescue Squad. Oscar sent that over last Sunday.



To those who don't know, they are a volunteer group that responds to accidents in the area and rescues people off the Dragon and more. We try to donate something to them every year if we can. This year we ran into some complications with the whole auction situation but are making plans to resolve those for next time. We're planning to purchase an extra table or two so we can have a dedicated auction space ready for the next cookout. Any items donated for auction this time will be brought to the next event Oscar attends and auctioned then, which will likely be this Fall.



Speaking of which, the Fall event will be Oct 3 - 6th. Go ahead and make plans, book your rooms, and prep your cars because it will be here before you know it! Despite what was explained before about the changes to the group room hold dates the contract has the block release date as 8/9/24, so they should have our rooms held for group members to reserve until at least then.
