Plan to meet up in front of the Wildwood Grill around 9:45 am on Friday morning so we can leave by 10. We'll head to Franklin for lunch at everyone's favorite French restaurant, Cafe' Rel! We will take a right out of Fontana and follow NC28 al the way to Franklin. The restaurant is built into the Hot Spot gas station that we'll end up going straight to. Due to the traffic pattern, keeping everyone together while taking Wayah Rd to Fraklin is much more challenging. Please refrain from fueling up at the Hot Spot until after we eat as they won't seat us until everyone is at the restaurant.

After lunch we will have a choice to make if time permits. Depending on the time, we can head up to Highlands for ice cream/shopping and waterfalls or we can take the Wayah Rd back towards Fontana. The town of Highlands, the drive up, and the waterfalls are all very pretty, but it adds another 4-5 hours to the day. Wayah Rd is a great drive and adds variety, but it's an hour longer than NC28. We'll default to Wayah Rd if we don't go to Highlands. The goal will be to get back to Fontana in time for the cookout. Let me know if you plan to go!

I won't be able to make the cook out that night as I'm obligated to be back at work 8am Saturday morning. So sometime after lunch or Highlands or....whatever we do I'll break off from the group and head home.
