DBRXI - Hotels and Lodging Options

the thing about tapoco is, when i stayed there in 07, it was pretty crappy. the cabins stunk of mold and funk...i suppose that's easy enough to get rid of, but i'm very skeptical. if they really totally renovated it and made it super nice, why do they have to include food in the bill to make the price seem worth it, shouldn't the renovations be worth it by themselves? i really cant wait to hear the reactions from people on what they thought of the place and hopefully i get a chance to check out some of the cabins/hotel rooms for myself.

Took a tour of Tapoco in late June. It has been completely gutted and fully restored. We saw every room and every cabin; the place is amazing. Top of the line. See a few photos on their website: www.tapocolodge.com
Also, Darryl Cannon(a.k.a. killboy)took a few photos and posted the link on the DBRXI Facebook page. Great shots!

Here's a dining option for those who do not plan to stay at Tapoco Lodge; if you would like to try Tapoco's fine-dining restaurant, Jaspers, dinner reservations are available to "non-guests". (Dinner at Jasper's is included for guests who stay at Tapoco).
The cost is $42.00 per person (plus tax & gratuity) for a french-style progressive dinner of four courses. You get to choose from 4 entrees, which change nightly. The other courses (appetizer, salad & dessert) are set, but also change nightly. Jaspers is open on Thursday - Sunday nights, from 6:00PM - 9:00PM, taking reservations at 20 minute intervals.
Our DBR Saturday night banquet buffet is already set (and is included in your registration fee), but if you would like to try the place on Thursday or Friday night of DBR, just give them a call. Here's a link to the restaurant page:
