ehhh.... on a rim? I mean, they ae obligaed to restore the car to its previous condition. well, that includes the rim that is now appearantly cracked. So they wil hae a car with three tires. and cannot replace the one missing. will they have the rim referbished, pay me for it, or order a stock Ap1 rim and shove it on there anyway, regardless of if it matches or not?

I was kidding about the bondo/fiberglass line
When it comes to body shops, I am not 100% sure their policy on wheels. Typically the insurance company will stroke a check for wheel damage.

From what I'd expect your insurance company will ask you what you want to do - from what I'd gather they will write you a check to replace that wheel.

Bondo?!? Maybe a little bit of fiberglass, if you're lucky!
Noooooo - I doubt even the worst body shop would bondo a wheel. They'll send it to a wheel repair specialist or replace it. Depends on how bad the damage is.

My policy reads that they should replace with "like kind and quality" I interpet that to mean they owe you what you had on the car.

If I saw a shop that tried to bondo/fiberglass a wheel I'd probably die laughing.

That's what I'd gather. Contact your insurance agency and let them know that you plan to deliver 4 OEM Wheels back to the shop while the work is being performed. It's safer to do this so that way when they paint you have no issues with over-spray on the wheels.
Let them know that you'd appreciate the cut you the check for the damaged wheel and you will have it replaced as it is from an overseas company.
