Bring the S, you can drive ON the Dragon itself, and your Dad can enjoy some of the many, many OTHER roads in the area that are not as technical (Skyway, Parkway, etc.)
Thanks guys!

I bought the Racelogic Traction Control to make it safer for him to drive, but haven't had time to install it yet.

I'm not worried about me.
I want my father to have a vehicle that has a measure of forgiveness built in.

Also, there are a lot of veterans of the Dragon who I'm sure would be more than willing to spend 30 minutes of their time showing you and your dad a good pace through the dragon, including places where it's safe to pull off and turns to be careful on. And remember, a good run is a clean run.

Being one of the ones recently added to the upside down club, I can tell you this. Driving on the dragon is not a problem at all for an inexperienced driver. My first trip to Wake the Dragon in 2005 was such an awesome experience. One thing you will find out fast is that the experienced drivers watch out for the newcomers. The Florida crew I was travelling with gave me great advice, which you have seen in the posts above. They told me not to try and keep up with them, but to drive at my own pace. Most of the problems come when you try to push it to hard and then it can get ugly. So don't be afraid of it. I would drive it in a heartbeat if my S2000 wasn't totalled. But you will regret it if you don't bring her down for the meet.
Just watch out for this crazy guy running the dragon.

You'll definitely regret not taking your S to the dragon. But definitely know your limit. It'll definitely take a few times through to get aquainted with the terrain and curvature of the road, but it'll get "funner" each time through. But if you do decide to take another car, I'll still talk to you as I'll be the only one there with an IS.....
