Post Communication Solutions:

Hey Gang!

Last year at WTD, we all had a blast, but getting in touch with people we wanted to meet was difficult becasue of the scattered layout of the cabins. ( I was fooled into buying buying a beer for a guy who never claimed to be Mocky) The lack of cell phone reception only amplified the problem, and descriptions such as, "he's the white guy in the silver S2K with aftermarket wheels" were essentially useless.

I suggest we use a Universal Fontana channel for general between cabin communication, and that each regional group pick thier communication channel and post that channel here. Since I took initiative on this I will choose channel 1.2 as the dedicated Fontana channel and 3.2 as the Florida chapter channel.

In addition to that I will be purchasing vinyl letters and spelling out Willie Gee across the top of my windshield. link to vinyl letters I suggest that anyone who wants to be found to do the same. Also, please use your user name during introductions. This is how we know most of each other.

Until further notice FRS radio channels are as follows:

Fontana Village: 1.2
Florida: 3.2
Offical Dragon Channel: 4.0
Ohio: 4.2
Carolinas: 5.2
Alabama: 6.0
Mid-A: 6.2
Music City TN 6.9

If you have a group you want to add your channel, lemme know,
& if you guys have a preference lemme know!

Hope to meet most of ya'll!

Willie, I think that is a great idea.

We acknowledge the issue of figuring out members names and cars and have decided to make dash cards for each member which will let everyone know who is who.

also, someone should make a step by step guide about how to use the radios.

PTT people, not voice activation.

Mitch is, of course, my Asian brother from another mother...
(You still owe me a btw)

I like the FRS radio idea I know the Ohio group at WTD'06 were on a channel and kept in touch the whole weekend.
The other proposal that was brought up was listing where evryone will be (either post it at the lodge or maybe have copies of a list to hand out when we check-in).

Mocky: Is it to early to pick a channel for the Ohio group?

I'd like to list all groups with the respective FRS channels on this thread.

If 3.3 is the dedicated channel for Florida, all group channels should be on a .3 channel (i.e. Ohio 4.3, Carolinas 5.3, Mid-A 6.3)

I'm also working with Fontana to set up a map of the village with push pins, so you can "tag" your cabin if you wish, and a central bulletin board for leaving messages. That should help!
