Few suggestions for lunch....

Never been to any of them, but seem to be rated pretty good.

Not sure if they are open either!

saw Tellico Grains when we were there last year, it's supposed to be fantastic!
I'm checking on them now. I'll let you know which/where I end up going. No matter which restaurant it turns out to be, you'll be close to Cherohala. At the moment, it looks like Tellico Kats Deli is leading followed closely by Tellico Grains followed by Krambonz.

I know where there is a nice little eatery but it takes three hours to get your food.

Here is the routing that I've used when I lead the Cherohala Drive...

It includes a stop at Bald River Falls (watch for a brown sign about 1 mile out of Tellico Plains - I've missed the turn a couple of times!)....
Id be up for this drive saturday

Thanks to everyone who did this run with the "newb". Tellico Grains was excellent and I highly recommend it.

And a hearty thanks to Billman, GPMIKE, Caddy Mike, Parrot and "Parrot +1" (hehe) for wasting half an afternoon with me prior to the actual drive making sure I know what I was doing.

See y'all next year
