The Black Widow Back in the Shop
Well...my "side hustle" bit me hard this month...
I was at a Spring Hill Suites, near the University of Cincinnati campus, to officiate a college soccer showcase. As I left the parking garage, I felt a *thud*. There was an unmarked 4 foot drop from the parking garage to the street. The assignor says there is no recourse towards the hotel or the showcase, so I am out of pocket. I also realized that i am not running full coverage (only Liability) on the Berlina. That'll be fixed.
Car is at Source One Automotive in Maineville, OH, one of the preferred S2000 shops for OKI. Ryan, the shop's Honda master mechanic, and a S2000 owner, says the driveshaft was damaged and recommended replacing the differential. Also the after market wheel bearings needed replaced...again...after 12 months and 30,000 miles on them.
I found a junk yard in Florida (Tae Used Auto Parts) that had both the driveshaft and the diff, from an 06 AP2.. Cost, including shipping to Source One, is $1287 ($999 for the diff and $199 for the driveshaft).
I'm also having the OEM axles re-installed, swapping the axle cups. This should resolve all the vibration issues, I've been having since the summer of 2020, when I got the dreaded "axle click".

4 foot drop surely would've incurred more than a "thud", right?

I'm having the hotel get in touch with the owner of the garage, to see what recourse I have.
Yes, Mike,... about 4 ft.
Plan is to have the car, fully sorted...first time since Sumer 2020, for the event. Parts arrive Friday. Should have the car ready by the following Friday.
Just got a qualified offer on my 85.5 Porsche 944...so I'm in the hunt for a CR-V. The buyer will be coming in from Florida, after I get back from vacation, in early April.
