DLP (Digital Light Processing) in any format would produce the best picture. IMO

Time Warner Cable is now HD Ready. Alot of Dedicated HD channels. 2, 4,7,11,HBO,SHOWTIME,CINEMAX, PBS,Discovery. Really great outlet for those Plasma screens. HD Converter/Receiver built into cable box.

I think you should have a look at Mitsubishi's Diamond Series Integrated HDTV (Rear projection). I have the 65" model and I will put it up against any picture out there, including any plasma TV on the market. Also comes in 52" and 73" models but when you put Direct TV's HDNET channel on your mouth will drop. The Diamond Series is their top of the line model, and is the only set, in my opinion, that beats the Pioneer Elite HDTV.

I just got a 42inch sony hdtv plasma with dish network, its awsome, i also have the wega sony xbr for the bedroom, I have no complaints at all!! clear picture mounted on the wall whooopppiie
