Man on fire. Stupid name, cool movie. I have to say Denzel is close to, or may have overtaken Samuel L Jackson as the best bad ass actor after seeing this movie (along with his training day role). The movie is a little slow to develop which may bother some poeple, but I enjoyed the movie from beginning to end. And when it gets going, it gets going... It's almost like not only Denzel's character gets pissed, but the movie gets mad as well. It goes... and then it goes a little more, as the movie is ~2:20 minutes long.

The film was a little long (could have easily been trimmed to 2 hours). But, the story (though cookie cutter) was well acted, especially by Denzel, the wife and Christopher Walken. . . 2.75 out of 4.

*Warning* Spoiler question:
Why in the world would Denzel's character agree to the kidnapper's terms of his-life-for-the-little-girl's? He had the jerk's brother sitting in the damn car!

Watched it on a long plane trip last night. I really liked it. It does take a bit of time to get started - but once he gets the proper motivation... look out!

just finished watching it then, and i thought there would be a thread about it.
overall i liked it. i liked it for the simple fact that it kept me interested and trying to guess who was behind everything and how it would all pan out.
one of the most violent films ive seen in ages though.
i agree with everyone who has said it took a while to get started, they could have wound it up a bit quicker at the beginning
i also found it interesting that after showing the violence and conditions in mexico they put up a notice at the end of the film saying its a top and special place haha
bit long- my butt started to get sore. but still worth the money
rahda mitchell who plays the wife is an aussie
oh yeh... was it a true story? we couldnt tell cuz of the stuff they wrote at the end about the deaths etc
