the total 'unwar' war movie... is there was a point, i seriously missed it. jake g is an actor on the rise in both fame + skill, but no man can carry this movie. the surprise of the film is Peter Sarsgaard. he played his serious, somber, a bit creepy yet unpredictable role quite well...

Damnn...I heard it was more drama than action. I haven't seen a good war movie in so long. Last good ones were like Private Ryan and Enemy at the Gates. Thats cool, save me $20+

It's a love it or hate it movie.

I knew that they never saw action going in so I had no dissapointment in that.

The first hour is great and very funny. Then it drags until the end. I still liked the movie but it is a character study about the madness of war. In this one it is more about the madness of waiting in the desert. I would compar to full metal jacket in some respects.

Don't feel the need to rush out and see it, but I would say definately worth a rental.

man... i guess i'm a weirdo for liking it! haha i mean i agree that the end started to drag but i still understand why it was actionless... i wanna read the book now. I'm sure it's prolly better than the movie, as are most books-turned-to-movies...

ok i really liked it. it wasnt made to be a war movie. it really opened up my eyes to see what they go through. although it did frustrate me when no shots were taken. i wanted to see that guys head get blown off.
