The Cove
Ok first let me admit, the older I get the more of an eco nut I become. At least in the eyes of some. I am a big animal guy, a big save the oceans guy. I like the show Whale Wars.
The Cove as many of you know is a movie about the large scale slaughter of dolphins in Tajii Japan. It was made by environmental activists, and it has an activist point of view. Its also a really good movie. Ebert gave it 4 stars. Really.
I also know this does not mean it will be a big hit on this board when the average guy thinks Transformers 2 is brilliant filmmaking. Its a movie that starts slow, does a lot of preaching, has some really hard scenes to watch, but has a powerful ending with some very hauting imagery.
If you like documentaries, love animals, or just want to see a deeper movie than the average hollywood fare, I recommend The Cove. Its new on video.
