wondering what the locals think about this...

Feel the paint around the bumpers to see if it "matches" other body panels. I found out later mines was in a slight rear accident (carfax never reported it). Make sure all body panels line up correctly.
Check the top for premature wear around the bars.
Check the fluids. (But you're gonna change them anyway since DIY is fun)
TSB's done? (Axle nut retorque etc)
You could always ask a member to go with you. Since most of us here have owned one for quite some time, we could always do a look over for all the little quirks of this car.

UPDATE:
Ok, so the seller called on Friday and said that the previous owner installed an aftermarket alarm (whoever did it did a terrible job) and removed it, but all the wiring for it is still there, underneath the driver's seat. They're having a lot of trouble figuring out what part is causing the slow drain....so the seller apologized and said he wouldn't know how long it would take him, and offered to send me back my deposit....needless to say, I didn't want to deal with electrical problems so I agreed and started to looked elsewhere. So this MY03 was for $18,996 with ~18500 miles.
So I kept on looking...and found another MY03 Silverstone with ~13700 miles, listed at $22,499 sitting in a Ford/Mazda/Lincoln dealership. It was an hour away so I went to check it out this morning...(this is the one with the OEM front lip that I mentioned above). Car drives great, condition is just as good as the first one, but the previous owner put a Blaupunkt San Francisco headunit in with a headphone jack, and it works with the dash controls. He also put a small sub behind the passenger seat, and there's a Clarion amp in the trunk.
Long story short, I told them the deal I was getting on the first one (but nothing about how it was being repaired and how I wasn't considering it anymore), and negotiated the price down to $18,500 This is also contingent on the car getting checked out at a local Honda dealership next Saturday....so if everything checks out like I expect it to, I'm taking delivery in a week I can't believe it...soon I'll be
