Track day 4.17, 4.18
Just signed up for the NASA HPDE in NJMP on the 4.17 and 4.18.
This is going to be my first Track Days ever.
I think I will need a helmet. Where can I buy one locally? What brand?
Anyone else signed up too?

You're going to get addicted
As far as locally, I have no idea, I ordered mine online.
Make sure it's Snell SA2005 rated. The SA2010 rating won't be until October, so don't worry about that. Even if someone is really interested in what year the rating is, it's common for the past two certifications to be valid (e.g. clubs will require your helmet to be SA2000 or SA2005, some of them even accept M rated helmets). M = motorcycle, SA = car.
I've got a Simpson Diamondback (AKA The Stig's helmet), but you can get others for a good bit cheaper. I know you can get a 3/4 (open face) Simpson SA2005 helmet for like $250 or so direct from them.
I wasn't aware of NASA's schedule; I'll check them out.

Gino,
They have this Preseason offer that ends Tomorrow. A weekend for $330. Let me know if you are going.

The reason I want to buy the helmet locally because i want to try them on and make sure it fits.

M rated helmets are not acceptable at NASA events. I mightl be there with the Honda Challenge H2 Civic unless I end up going to Summit Point with NASA-MA.

can anyone race in this with their car or do you have to be a member and have your car speced out for the event?
