South Jersey Autocross School - Sun 3/7
Short notice I know, but i just realized that they are having this event.
This Sunday March 7th the South Jersey Region of the Sports Car Club of America ( SCCA ) is having an Autocross Novice School at Atco Raceway.
Novice schools are a great way to get into Autocross. I recommend it to all of you who are interested in autocrossing, tracking, or those of you who had fun at the Mazda Rev it Up.
Here is the web site:
http://www.sjr-scca.org/soloii/soloii.html
There is no pre-registration necessary. I can't make it but I wish I could.
Get out there! It's time to autocross your s2000!!!!
Have fun -- Tom

^^^ Do you know if they have any experience requirements for the novice school. I've been autoXing for around 2 years, but I could really use some seat time and practice in my new S. However, I don't want to take up a spot that is intended to go to a true novice...

John, not sure if I can answer that for you. I've only been AutoXing 2x, at FC02 and FC 03.
I would say that Tom is one of our local AutoX/track afficianados. If he suggests it, and the purpose of the event meets your goals, then it would be a good idea.
If the weather holds out for Sunday, I may go. Even to watch/look.

Most of the answers to the questions you guys have asked can be found at www.autox4u.com . It really is the autocross website for this area.
aklucsarits - I don't see the harm is showing up for some runs in the s2k, but in general the idea at the novice events is to get new people into the sport. There are probably some test and tune events that you could find that might fit better.
Heyitsgary - I would guess that they will have loner helmuts, but it wouldn't hurt to drop them an e-mail.
Let me warn you guys, you may find this stuff addictive
Seriously this is a good opportunity to try out the sport. I attended a novice school in 2001 and have been competing ever since.
